THE 5TH ANNUAL MAIN STREET SUMMER SOULSTICE IS COMING!

Sunday, June 26th

The 5th Annual Main Street Santa Monica Summer SOULstice is coming, featuring live music, pony rides, a petting farm, a scavenger hunt with big prizes, a sidewalk sale-- fun for the whole family, and more!

Several tribute bands (Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Doors, and a Neil Young tribute band with Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye sitting in), a petting farm, and the chance to win a night at the Sea Shore Motel & dinner for four Chinois in a scavenger hunt are just part of the fun.

The Main Street Business Improvement Association in Santa Monica will sponsor their 5th Annual Summer SOULstice Celebration, Sunday, June 26, 11am to 6pm, on Main Street, Santa Monica, between Pico and Marine. The Sidewalk Sale is also on Saturday, June 25.

The SOULstice is co-sponsored by The L.A. Weekly, Indie 103, and Jams World and is supported by additional generous donations from Joe’s Diner, Holy Guacamole, Library Alehouse and the First Federal Bank.

Activities will be in parking lots, courtyards and on select side streets. Many Main Street merchants will be offering items on sale as part of the Sidewalk Sale or in-store activities.

TRIBUTE BANDS
From noon to 6pm there will be a variety of live music. Because of the enthusiastic reaction to the tribute bands for the last two years, Highway 61 (a Dylan tribute), The Neil Deal (a tribute to Neil Young), and Peace Frog (The Doors tribute band), will be back, along with Number 9 (a tribute to the Beatles), and The Rolling Clones (a Stones tribute band).

There will also be a variety of music sponsored by Indie 103 (at the First Federal lot between Ashland and Hill) and a variety sponsored by Jams World (in the Marine lot on the corner of Main and Marine), and, in the Edgemar Courtyard, there will be a music event coordinated by composer/guitarist Jonathon Grasse featuring feature site-specific new music works, structured improvisations, and an open-space/multi-stage format for large and small ensembles, soloists, live electronics, and dancers, produced by Edgemar owner Abby Sher.

A complete schedule for the music will be on the Main Street website at http://www.mainstreetsm.com

For the kids, there will be pony rides, a petting farm, face-painting and balloon twisting with Rockie the Clown; and Jersey Jim, Comedy Magician.
