SOULSTICE IS COMING!

Featuring
what is possibly the largest single-day presentation of tribute and show bands,
on five stages, the 7th Annual Main Street Santa Monica Summer SOULstice is
coming to Main Street, Santa Monica.
There
will be sixteen live bands, DJs, pony rides, a petting farm, a sidewalk sale, a
Scavenger Hunt -- fun for the whole family, and more!
Several
tribute bands (Neil Young, Cars, Madonna, Police, Dead, and more), four theme
show bands (The 80s Band, UnderCover Girls, Summer of Love, and Stone Soul),
and a Scavenger Hunt are just part of the fun.
The
Main Street Business Improvement Association in Santa Monica will produce their
8th Annual Summer SOULstice Celebration, Sunday, June 22, 11am to
7:15pm, on Main Street, Santa Monica, between Pico and Marine. The Sidewalk Sale is also on Saturday,
June 21.
The
SOULstice is sponsored by T-Mobile, and co-sponsored by Royal Elastics, The
World Caf, Inner Harmony, JoeŐs Grill, Puzzle Zoo, The L.A. Weekly, The
Enterprise Fish Co., Edgemar, OŐBrienŐs Irish Pub, and Library Alehouse with
additional generous support from Positive Existence Printing, Santa Monica
Signs, and First Federal Bank.
Activities
will be in parking lots, courtyards and on select side streets. Many Main Street merchants will have
in-store parties or be offering items on sale as part of the Sidewalk Sale.
LIVE
MUSIC! TRIBUTE BANDS! THEME BANDS!
Between noon and 7:15pm, sixteen bands will play,
performing on five different stages.
Because of the enthusiastic reaction to the tribute bands and theme show
bands for the last five years, Highway 61 (a Dylan tribute), The Neil Deal (a
tribute to Neil Young),
Heartless, (a Heart tribute), The Summer of Love Show, and
Stone Soul (classic 60s soul) will be back, along with tribute bands and theme
show bands Candy-O (a Cars tribute), Doctor Wu (a Steely Dan tribute),
Southbound (an Allman Brothers tribute), The Into The Groove Show (a Madonna
tribute), UnderCover Girls (an 80s music show), Pop King Prince (a Prince
tribute), That 80s Band (an 80s music show), Petty Theft (a Tom Petty tribute),
Cubensis (a Grateful Dead tribute) and Fallout – The Police Experience (a
Police tribute).

For
the kids, there will be pony rides, a petting farm, and face-painting and
balloon twisting with Rockie the Clown.
Because of the overwhelming response to and participation
in the Scavenger Hunt for the last five years, there will be a new one this year. As in the past, itŐs an opportunity for
participants to win big prizes!
Contestants can win a grand prize—a custom-made Schecter electric
guitar worth $500.00 or one of over 100 other prizes including prizes worth up
to $200 or more from A Song In My Heart, Arts & Letters, Aura Shop, BeyŐs

Main Street FarmerŐs Market.
Cluesheets will be available on Sunday, June 22 at the MSBIA table at
the Sunday Main Street FarmerŐs Market, and at SOULstice info tables at the American
Apparel lot (northwest corner of Main & Hill), at the First Federal lot
((2800 block, east side) and at the Edgemar Courtyard (2400 block, east side).
Parking
is available at the beach lots ($6/day) and at the Santa Monica Civic Center
lot and parking garage. Santa
Monica Big Blue Bus will be running a special shuttle back and forth between
the Civic Center garage and Main Street during the event.
