With their new venture, Isla builds on Brian and Leena’s progressive labor model, stellar team, and tight knit relationships with local fisherman, farmers, and creatives. Isla’s menu applies a wood-fire cure to fish, vegetables, and pastured birds, and features a low-intervention wine program which focuses on best soil practices and high-acid, mineral-driven wines. Spanish legend describes the Isle of California as a terrestrial paradise, like Atlantis or The Garden of Eden. We focused on sourcing the right blend of meat to pair with our house made bread and butter pickles and our sweet, smoky, extra tangy heavy sauce. ground short rib beef provided the ideal balance of meat and marbled fat that we then pressed and seared to maillardian precision. We added grilled onions and a blanket of the finest cheese america has to offer. sandwiching it between a buttered, lightly toasted bun was the final step in achieving the perfect bite.

We knew we wanted to create an alcohol we felt better about drinking, and we knew we wanted it to taste delicious. We had just finished brewing our first couple kegs of Blood Orange Mint and invited a few friends over. A few friends turned into 20, which turned into 50, and the kegs were dry in just a few short hours. We knew we were on to something.
To this day, we brew Blood Orange Mint with the same ingredients as we did in our garage. JuneShine's brewed with real ingredients: green tea, honey, fruit juice, spices, and our Jun kombucha base (also known as the SCOBY). The flavors are so smooth, it's literally called "the champagne of kombuchas."

There are lots of vegetarian options as well as some vegan plates, and several gluten-free dishes are available to boot.
OUR STORY
Fabrizio came to America from Rome over twenty years ago, working his way through the restaurant industry hosting, waiting and managing in the finest Italian restaurants across California and Italy. It was only after many years experience and hard work that he decided to open his own unique restaurant – a place that provided patrons the best Italian fine dining experience without the austere service and atmosphere sometimes associated with fine dining. “We want you to feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door,” explains Fabrizio.
After many months searching for the perfect space, Fabrizio, with the help of rock star partner Warren Cuccurullo (Duran Duran, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) stumbled on a charming and intimate venue on Main Street with high ceilings and a beautiful stone floor.
